Prayer for Our Schools

Prayer angels

As we draw near to the start of a new school year, my heart is so heavy for our schools.  I know our most powerful weapon against the attacks of satin is prayer.  Our schools hold so much of our future within their walls. I pray God’s protection for our schools through out the year, and our children while in route to and on our campuses.  There is so much riding on our children and those who impact their lives on a daily basis in our school systems.  Praying for our schools, the staffs and the children is so vital for me.  There are so many ways that we can impact our schools through prayer.  Previously, I’ve physically walked around school campuses and prayed before the start of the school year and even during the school year.  I can’t begin to imagine what some of the struggles and challenges our administrators, teachers, staff members, students, and families might face this coming school year.  The list of people and things to prayer for our schools is endless, but I’m going to share a few things I pray.  The first thing I pray for is the salvation of all those associated with our schools, I cover the administrators, the entire staff, cafeteria workers, custodians, bus drivers, students and their families.  Along with the employees at the district level and our board members.  Within our schools are christian organizations and I pray they fully understand the depth of God’s love, they model that love, and they  represent Jesus well in words and actions.  It is important for our school personnel to be godly remodels for our children, so I pray that they would see each student and God sees them and be able to meet their needs.  My prayer is that they enjoy their job, be full of integrity, truly  love each student and bring out the best in them.  The future holds so much promise for our students, so I pray that they enjoy learning and make it a priority in their lives.  Also, that they learn responsibility, good work ethics, respect for authority, develop healthy relationships, value honesty, show appreciation, and grow spiritually.  I  pray for God’s protection and provision for the home life of our students, along with the home life of their school’s personnel.  The parents and their organizations play a crucial roll in our schools, so I pray for unity and solid working relationships between them and the school staff. My list is so long, I could go on and on, but lastly I pray for wisdom, integrity, cooperation, godliness, harmony, energy, and excitement for all that are associated with our schools. May they live out Ephesians 6:10-18.#

Rejoice Today

flower“This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”  Psalm 118:24 Today is really all I have, yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not promised.   No matter what my day may bring each moment is an opportunity to choose my attitude.  I have heard over and over  the statement “attitude is everything.”  It is a proven fact that our attitude will determine out outcome in life.  Whatever I face I must choose my reaction to the situation.  As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned that life is so short and my time here on earth is to precious to sweat the small stuff.  There is so much  value in the simple things of life.  I rejoice in the fact that I’m loved by my Heavenly Father, a loving husband, terrific kids, my parents, a caring sister, a wonderful family and a host of the most awesome friends.  I’m so glad for the things that we tend to take for granted. My five sense work great, my health is good, but more than anything I am glad to be used by God to share and show is awesome love to others.  When I wake up in the morning I normally ask God to show me who I can impact for His kingdom today.  More and more I’m learning to take advantage of each day, keep short accounts and give each day to God.   As I pursue my dreams and goals, I lay them at the feet of Jesus.  Because at the end of the day I choose His will and plan over anything I may want.  My prayer is always His will be done not mine!#

Simply Healthy Breakfast

Shake picture

Our breakfast is delicious and healthy.  I was one that did not like protein shakes, but Arbonne Essentials Shakes have transformed my taste buds.  A cup of frozen strawberries, protein, fiber, and a hand full of spinach make for a great tasting smoothie drink.  The Arbonne Shake has 20 grams of Vegan protein from peas, cranberries and brown rice.  It has 20 essentials vitamins & minerals, and it smells as good as it taste.  Which was a surprise to me, because before my transformation I did not like the smell of shakes.  I add the Arbonne fiber because it is orderless, tasteless, and texture-less.   In 1 serving we get  1/2 the recommended daily allowance.  The neat thing about adding the spinach is that you don’t know it is in the shake by the taste, but it makes it so much healthier.  I’ve also used kale and had the same results.  This is the shake I make the most, because it is quick and easy.  But, I have so many more delicious recipes for our Arbonne Shakes.  My husband and I also enjoy incredible protein bars that I make with our Proteint Shake Powder.  I am now a huge fan of these Vegan Protein Shakes!!#

Treasured Memories

Quilt 1

There are so many ways to treasure memories, my friend shared a way to stitching them together.  We both had sons getting married last year and she was making a wedding quilt for her son and new daughter in-law.  Not only did she loan me her idea but she  played a big part in helping me prepare and put together this amazing gift.  After cutting squares and putting them on cardboard, friends, family and guest at the wedding  had an opportunity to share a special note or picture for the quilt.  This was also a way for people who could not be present at the wedding to a part of their special celebration.  I had so much fun finding fabric that depicted who they were individually and as a couple.  All the notes brought me many smiles and chuckles.  This quilt also brought back GREAT memories of my grandmothers and another elderly friends who is no longer with us. I still have a quilt that my grandmother made for me when I graduated from high school.  It never occurred to me when I embarked on this project that I was following in both of my grandmothers foot steps.    I am fortunate to have several really talented friends that are quilters.  Once I finished stitching all the squares together another friend came along to help with the border and binding.  I am so grateful for technology because they now have amazing machines that will attach the batting and put a back on the quilt with fancy designs. Unlike the the way my grandmothers had to put their quilts together.  I was blessed to know the right people to help me accomplish this special project.  I give thanks for them all.  This was so much fun and I’ve already started collecting fabric that depicts my daughter’s life.  I am assuming that I will get to this again one day.  My son and daughter -in-law will always know they are covered with LOVE!  Legacies are worth passing one.#

Praying For Your Husband

Gerald and Sandra at Art of Marriage

Years ago a friend shared this 31 Days of Prayers for your husband calendar with me  and I have used it more than once and have seen God’s faithfulness.  I am not sure where she got it from, but I’m passing it on because I so believe in the power of prayer.  Bless your husband and family by praying for him!  Trust God as you pray and surrender you husband and marriage to our Heavenly Father’s care.

31 Days of Prayer

Pray that your husband will be humble and quick to agree with God about his sin. Pray that his heart will be tender toward the voice of the Lord. (Ps. 51:2-4; Micah 6:8)
Day 4

Day 6

Pray that your husband will work hard to provide for your family, to the best of his ability. Pray that the character qualities necessary for a successful career and ministry will be a growing part of his character – persistence, decisiveness, strength, an analytical mind, organizational skills,  positive relationships with people, determination, etc. (Rom. 12:11; 1 Cor. 15:58)
